Every year, Sheringham Town Council celebrates the incredible volunteers who make our town a brighter, kinder, and more connected place to live. The Community Thank You Award Scheme recognises individuals and groups whose dedication, compassion, and generosity enrich the lives of residents across Sheringham.
These awards shine a spotlight on the people who quietly go above and beyond; supporting neighbours, strengthening community spirit, and helping make Sheringham the wonderful town we’re proud to call home.
Celebrating our community heroes
Every nominee will receive a Certificate of Thanks as a token of our appreciation.
Award winners will also be recognised at the Annual Parish Meeting each May, where we celebrate their contribution to Sheringham’s community life.
Whether they’re tidying beaches, coaching youth teams, supporting vulnerable residents, organising community events, or simply spreading joy through small acts of kindness – our volunteers are the heart of Sheringham.
Help us celebrate them by making a nomination!
2026 Awards
Nominations have now closed and are being reviewed.
This year, the awards will be given out at the Annual Parish Meeting on Tuesday 26th May 2026. We invite all nominees and nominators to join the celebrations.
Who can be nominated?
We welcome nominations that highlight the very best of Sheringham’s volunteering spirit.
Eligible nominees include:
- Individual volunteers
- Voluntary groups or not‑for‑profit organisations
To keep the awards fair and meaningful:
- Nominees must be volunteers, not paid staff
- Groups must operate on a voluntary or not‑for‑profit basis
- Award recipients must wait three years before being eligible for nomination again
- Current Town Councillors cannot submit nominations
How are nominations assessed?
Once the nomination window closes, the Community Award Scheme Working Group will review all complete submissions. Nominations are assessed on their individual merit and against the eligibility criteria set out in the scheme.
Nominees selected by the group will be contacted directly and invited to attend the Awards Ceremony.
All personal data submitted through nomination forms will be handled with care and processed in accordance with Sheringham Town Council’s Data Protection Policy. Information will be used solely for the purposes of administering the Community Award Scheme and will be stored securely.
